Three commercial solutions

Delivery, shipping
and handover.

We extend your operational capability with one accountable coordination team. Each appointment is scoped around the yacht, stakeholder obligations and the commercial milestone.

01 / Managed Yacht Delivery

A complete own-hull delivery operation.

We arrange the professional delivery captain and crew and coordinate the yacht’s preparation, passage, reporting and arrival handover.

02 / Yacht Shipping Coordination

A managed link between yacht and carrier.

We coordinate carrier quotations, specialist preparation and protection, port attendance and agreed reinstatement, keeping each handover connected to your client’s programme.

03 / New Build Yacht Handover

Protect the client experience beyond completion.

For builders, dealers and yards coordinating an owner-facing handover. We connect commissioning records, documented outstanding items and agreed follow-up, supporting a clear acceptance process and onward movement.

Responsibilities remain explicit.

Carrier obligations, builder warranties, statutory certification, survey work and specialist technical sign-off remain with the appropriately appointed parties. North Star coordinates the agreed operation and reports clearly across those interfaces.

Commercial accountability

A delivery operation
your team can rely on.

North Star combines experienced captains with a consistent operating brief, shoreside oversight and documented care. Your team gains delivery capacity with an agreed reporting and approval structure.

How we select and support captains
01

People appointed against the assignment

Qualifications, references, passage records and relevant vessel experience inform selection. Our network’s background spans production catamarans, performance sailing yachts and motor yachts, with logistics and delivery coordinated up to 35 metres.

02

Presentation and maintenance continuity

Departure condition records, protection of finishes and furnishings, machinery logs and manufacturer service schedules help protect the asset and support a properly documented customer handover.

03

Reports that connect every stakeholder

We agree who receives tracking access and operational updates. Captains report technical matters, photographs, maintenance and expenditure to North Star; our shore team communicates the relevant information to your authorised contacts.

04

Decisions through the right channel

Significant defects, extra costs and programme changes trigger a situation report. We coordinate suitable port and technical options and seek approval under the agreed authority, while the captain retains safety-critical command.

A record for the next custodian

Close the movement properly.

Repeat work. Consistent standards.

Capacity without another operation to manage.

Our team and captain network bring more than one million nautical miles and over 100 years of combined professional experience. That collective career history supports individual projects and recurring movements, including experience gained before North Star.

A fit for your workflow

We can agree communication formats, handover requirements and stakeholder access for repeat work. Multiple movements are assessed against the people, vessel types, timing and support each project requires—not accepted on capacity assumptions.

Your relationship remains yours

Client-facing involvement and any partner-branded communication can be discussed in the brief. Responsibilities and the identity of the service providers remain clear; white-label arrangements are not assumed.

How a project takes shape

From commercial brief to final handover.

For a single yacht or a programme of work, we begin with a defined commercial brief and build the delivery, shipping or new-build handover operation around it.

01

Tell us the brief

The yacht, stakeholders, locations, timing and commercial milestone you need us to support.

02

Agree the operation

We review the information, clarify readiness and set out the scope, fees, expenses and responsibilities.

03

Prepare and coordinate

The right people, documents, practical arrangements and communication plan come together before departure.

04

Execute and close

We coordinate the agreed operation and close with the relevant arrival, shipping or new-build handover records.

Connected commercial delivery

One project record.
A clearer client handover.

When your reputation continues beyond the sale, launch or fleet movement, visibility matters. North Star brings the delivery team, shore coordination and authorised client representatives into a controlled project workspace.

Can our business and client access the project portal?

We agree the required project contacts with you and invite the authorised representatives. Access is assigned to individual projects, with shared records limited to the relevant audience or named recipient. This provides a coordinated view of the assignment without exposing North Star’s internal costing or private team notes.

How do the captain, shore team and client stay coordinated?

Captains submit passage reports, machinery and maintenance records, photographs and expenses to operations. The shore team reviews submissions, publishes relevant updates and coordinates outstanding actions. Your appointed contacts see the shared information and decisions relevant to their project, rather than an unfiltered stream of internal reports.

What does a company-managed delivery add to a captain appointment?

North Star takes responsibility for coordinating the agreed operation around the captain: verified selection, readiness planning, weather and logistical support, defined reporting, asset-care requirements and documented handover. Your team has a clear escalation contact and an operating structure that can be applied across individual yachts or a programme of work.

How are delivery captains selected?

North Star checks qualifications, references, passage records and relevant yacht experience, drawing on captains known through our professional network. We match the appointment to the vessel, route, season, systems and wider crew. The captain receives an agreed operating brief and reports to our shore team throughout the managed delivery.

How do you manage machinery servicing and warranty-sensitive work?

Captains record engine and generator hours and service work against the applicable manufacturer schedules, including early-life requirements. Routine work is carried out within competence and manufacturer requirements; specialist or authorised service attendance is coordinated where needed. Warranty decisions remain with the manufacturer, and records are available for the partner’s handover file.

What reporting can a partner expect?

Partners receive agreed mobilisation and readiness updates, tracking access for authorised recipients, passage progress, significant weather or routing decisions and technical situation reports. Captains submit machinery hours, maintenance, defects, photographs and expenditure to North Star; we provide relevant records and a documented arrival handover to the agreed stakeholders.

What happens when a major technical problem interrupts the programme?

The captain addresses immediate safety. North Star provides a situation report to authorised contacts as communications permit, assists with suitable diversion options, liaises with manufacturers or contractors and seeks timely competitive repair quotations where practical. We coordinate approval and revised arrival plans under the agreed authority.

Can you manage multiple deliveries at the same time?

Yes. Our captain network and shoreside operation support concurrent assignments. We confirm suitable personnel, shore capacity, yacht readiness, route and timing for each project, with a distinct operating brief and reporting arrangements for every vessel.

Are you the shipping carrier?

No. North Star Marine coordinates the shipping solution and supervises the yacht’s movement at the relevant stages. The selected carrier remains responsible for the contracted ocean transport and its carrier obligations.

Can you work under our brand or behind the scenes?

Yes, where commercially appropriate. We can operate as a clearly identified delivery partner, coordinate directly with the client, or work discreetly behind your team. The reporting, authority and client-facing arrangement should be agreed before the project begins.
