Captain and crew selection
We check qualifications, references and passage history, and match experience to the yacht, its systems and the proposed route. Our knowledge of the captain network adds context beyond a CV.
Your yacht needs to reach its next destination. You should not have to assemble the captain, crew, preparation and support operation yourself. North Star Marine manages long-distance yacht delivery under the vessel’s own hull, with one accountable point of contact.
For private owners, builders, brokers, dealers, yacht managers and charter operators. Whether moving a recently purchased yacht, a new build or an established cruising vessel, we coordinate the people and practical details around the passage.

We review readiness and record the yacht’s condition before departure. Appropriate protection for upholstery, counters, high-use areas and exposed fittings, together with secure stowage and agreed cleaning routines, helps limit avoidable damage, corrosion and wear inside and out.
The captain’s passage planning is supported by weather and routing input, security considerations and practical port arrangements. The onboard captain retains command and makes safety decisions.
Open your yacht’s satellite tracking link from the project portal to see its latest reported position. Agreed check-ins and reviewed shore-team updates provide context; position frequency depends on the equipment, reporting interval and connectivity.
Captains record engine and generator hours and maintenance against applicable manufacturer schedules. We reduce avoidable running and sailing loads without compromising safety, power requirements or the passage.
Condition photographs, maintenance and machinery records, expenditure and outstanding items are brought together for handover. Technical issues and additional costs are communicated and handled under the agreed approval arrangements.
We review the yacht, exact departure and arrival points, intended window and known constraints.
The proposal separates professional fees, estimated expenses, exclusions and approval arrangements.
Readiness is checked, the crew mobilises and the delivery proceeds when the captain is satisfied it can safely do so.
We coordinate the receiving party and provide the agreed delivery records and handover.
Distance alone does not determine the delivery price. Yacht type and condition, crew requirements, preparation time, travel, expected passage duration, fuel, provisioning, port costs and the seasonal window all matter. Depending on the assignment, professional fees may use a nautical-mile rate, a day rate or a defined project fee. Estimates and actual-cost expenses are identified separately.
Our proposal identifies the agreed services, assumptions, exclusions and approval arrangements. Submitting an enquiry is not a booking or an instruction to mobilise.

Yes. Atlantic crossings form part of our global delivery scope. The intended season, yacht readiness, range, crew and realistic departure window are assessed before a plan is agreed.
No. We plan around the intended window, but weather, technical condition and port access can change it. Safety takes priority over a deadline, and we explain material changes and their implications.
We document it and agree how it should be addressed. A delivery quotation is not a declaration of seaworthiness; unresolved safety or readiness concerns can prevent departure.
Delivery uses a professional crew to move the yacht under its own hull. Shipping uses a third-party carrier. We can help compare these approaches and coordinate either within an agreed scope.
Follow your yacht through its satellite tracking link, read reviewed shore-team updates and find shared condition reports, receipts and handover records in your private project portal.
Share the yacht, location and intended outcome. We aim to acknowledge enquiries within one working day and confirm quotation timing after reviewing the scope.
