Weather Routing & Passage Support

Weather routing.
Your passage, supported.

Professional weather routing and practical shoreside support for owners undertaking their own passages. You remain the captain, with an additional professional perspective on weather, progress and the arrangements needed ashore.

The scope

A shore team for
your own passage.

This service is for an owner or appointed captain who will sail the yacht with their own crew. It is not a delivery-crew placement service or a substitute for competent onboard navigation and seamanship. We agree what support you need before you depart.

01

Departure and route discussion

We consider your intended route, timing, yacht performance and limitations, available communications and practical alternatives. The departure window is reviewed against the information available.

02

Weather routing and passage updates

Weather guidance and route advice provide a second perspective as conditions evolve. Update frequency and the information to be exchanged are agreed for the passage.

03

Tracking and check-in arrangements

We agree how position reports, tracking and communications will work, including what to do if an expected check-in is missed. Tracking relies on functioning equipment and connectivity.

04

Port and arrival coordination

If the plan changes, we can help research suitable arrival options and coordinate marinas, local agents or technical contacts. Availability, entry permission and third-party charges remain separate considerations.

05

Operational problem-solving

You can contact the shore team for help with emerging issues. We can gather information and coordinate practical assistance while you retain command and make the onboard decisions.

06

Clear boundaries and escalation

Standby arrangements and escalation contacts are agreed in advance. This is not an emergency rescue service, a guarantee of immediate response or a replacement for onboard watchkeeping.

How it works

A clear sequence.
No gaps between responsibilities.

  1. 01

    Describe the passage

Tell us your yacht, intended route, dates, experience and the support you want.

  2. 02

    Agree the support scope

We establish duration, communications, update frequency, responsibilities and any additional coordination.

  3. 03

    Prepare the connection

Tracking, check-ins and escalation arrangements are agreed before support begins.

  4. 04

    Stay connected underway

We provide the agreed shoreside input and adjust practical arrangements with you as the journey develops.

Your quotation

Understand the scope.
Understand the cost.

Support is quoted around the expected duration, route complexity, frequency of weather input and agreed availability. Port liaison or unusual technical coordination may need a separate allowance. Captain, crew, flights, fuel and provisioning are not automatically part of a shore-support quotation: you are operating your own yacht.

Our proposal identifies the agreed services, assumptions, exclusions and approval arrangements. Submitting an enquiry is not a booking or an instruction to mobilise.

Questions about
this service.

Practical answers to help you scope your enquiry.

More owner questions Questions for commercial partners
Is this only for ocean crossings?

No. Shoreside support can also cover coastal legs. Tell us the whole intended journey so the scope and duration are clear.

Do you choose or provide my crew?

Crew recruitment is not included. The onboard captain should vet and select the people they will sail with.

Can I contact the team at any time?

You can send a message at any time. We agree standby and escalation arrangements for the passage; we do not promise an immediate response to every message or uninterrupted connectivity.

Who makes the final routing decision?

The onboard captain. Shore-based advice must be considered alongside the conditions, equipment and information available on the yacht.

Can support follow a new-build handover?

Yes. Handover coordination can lead into your own passage with agreed support ashore. Familiarisation can be added if requested. Select both services in the quotation form.

Your private project portal

A clear link to your shore team.

Use your project portal to share passage information, find agreed documents and read published shore-team updates. Your satellite tracking link can sit alongside the project record. Weather delivery, direct contact and urgent check-ins follow the communication arrangements agreed for your passage.
